2 (9-inch) pie crusts

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
1 egg white + 1 tablespoon water

How to cook the best apple pie – Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large bowl, mix together the sliced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

Roll out one of the pie crusts and place it in the bottom of a 9-inch pie dish.

Spoon the apple mixture into the pie crust, making sure to discard any excess liquid in the bottom of the bowl.
