Beautiful evening

A Poem, a Song and a Wine for a Beautiful Evening

In this section of our website, “Beautiful life”, we will add whatever we find it suitable, whatever it makes our day better. Today, it’s about a poem, a song and a wine for a beautiful evening.

We just found and liked them and told ourselves “yes, they are worth sharing in this corner of our website”.

Enjoy!

If I had three lives

by Sarah Russell, a poem first published in Silver Birch Press

A beautiful poem for a beutiful evening

‘If I had three lives, I’d marry you in two.

The other? Perhaps that life over there

at Starbucks, sitting alone, writing – a memoir,

maybe a novel or this poem. No kids, probably,

a small apartment with a view of the river,

and books – lots of books, and time to read.

Friends to laugh with, and a man sometimes,

for a weekend, to remember what skin feels like

when it’s alive. I’d be thinner in that life, vegan,

practice yoga. I’d go to art films, farmers markets,

drink martinis in swingy skirts and big jewelry.

I’d vacation on the Maine coast and wear a flannel shirt

weekend guy left behind, loving the smell of sweat

and aftershave more than I did him. I’d walk the beach

at sunrise, find perfect shell spirals and study pockmarks

water makes in sand. And I’d wonder sometimes

if I’d ever find you.”

‘Maybe’ by Gabriela Bassermann

Gabriella Bassermann

As the first poem is very, very beautiful but can be “seen” as “too feminist” or appropriate only for single ladies, I chose another beautiful poem written by a very talented poet from my country, Romania. Gabriela Bassermann has a blog (which you can find here, but she only writes in Romanian) and she also published a book. She is very, very talented, believe me, if you will read on her blog you will fall in love with her writing and poems.

Maybe

Maybe spring
Was built
From a woman’s smile
With warm eyes just awaken
And
From a breastfed child’s soul.
This is how we all would understand
Why the whole world
Rebirths
In a single early March day.

Love grows,
And it grows
And it floods
Hearts
And dreams,
Explodes
In the flowers
In the sun
And in a hyacinth scent,
Painfully
White.
It cures
Tears
And steps
Yet undone
To love.

The song – ‘Traingazing’ – Sam Wills ft. Honey Mooncie

One of the best songs to listen to while reading the poem and sipping from a good wine on a beautiful evening is ‘Traingazing’ by Sam Wills and Honey Mooncie.

First, you should know ‘traingazing’ represents ‘the action of glancing’ at a stranger on a train and imagining where the two of you might go in life’.

Besides its calming, and mesmerizing rhythms we think the definition captions quite good the essence of a beautiful evening, just by yourself.

Sam Wills is a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who released ‘Traingazing’ featuring jazz singer Honey Mooncie on 2021. Mooncie, only 20 years old, is one of Great Britain’s most talented up-and-comers.

You know what else makes the perfect beautiful evening? A chic and trendy outfit, and for this, little black dress can’t go wrong. Read here our top 5 little black dresses picks.

Music, wine a good time – Dibon Brut Rose its the best match for a beautiful evening

Dibon Cava Brut Rose Wine, perfect for a beautiful evening

For this beautiful evening we chose a bright fruity sparkling wine: Dibon Brut Rose, a Spanish wine, made from Garnache grapes. Its persistent bubbles, fragrances of red raspberries and blueberries and, of course, its discreet but savory mineral touch – all these are just some of the reasons Dibon Brut Rose is an unforgettable wine.

Follow Raya Magazine on Facebook and Instagram.

We recommend serving it at 6 Celsius degrees, by itself, or with an aperitif, fish, seafood, cheese or with more sophisticated cakes.

You can shop it here or from Unvinpezi.ro if you live in Romania.

Bonus: A movie to watch tonight on Netflix

The Law According to Lidia Poet

So it’s a pleasant evening, you’ve read some beautiful poems, listen to good music, sip from a sparkling rose and now it is time to see a movie.

Here are some of my recently seen movies on Netflix. I didn’t have time to review them on separate articles, but I will leave you more details below.

1). The Law According to Lidia Poet

If you haven’t seen it yet, please put the series “The Law According to Lidia Poet” on your list. Especially it is March, the month dedicated to women worldwide, it is worth seeing an inspiring movie about the first modern lawyer of Italy. Each episode has its own story with a criminal case unrevealed by Lidia Poet.

Forbidden from practicing law, a woman prepares an appeal to overturn the court’s decision in this true story of Lidia Poët, Italy’s first female lawyer.

The main character is portrayed by the very talented Matilda de Angelis, an Italian actress and singer. Eduardo Scarpetta, known mainly from his part on “L’amica geniale) is also part of the cast. Besides mystery and a piece of history, you will also see beautiful in-vogue, versatile, top-notch outfits.

2). Your Place or Mine

The “return” of Ashton Kutcher and Reese Witherspoon in the “world” or rom-com is a success. The movie “Your Place or Mine” is for some time on Netflix. First I thought it’s just “another rom-com”, the beginning was a little bit unpromising, but in the end I like it.

Two long-distance best friends change each other’s lives when she decides to pursue a lifelong dream and he volunteers to keep an eye on her teenage son.

3). We have a ghost

In my country, “We Have a Ghost”  is Number 1 in Top 10 Most Viewed Movies. Starring Anthony Mackie, David Harbiur and Jennifer Coolidge, the movie is a comedy you shouldn’t miss. I had a good laugh at this movie that is a fit for a relaxing evening.

Finding a ghost named Ernest haunting their new home turns Kevin’s family into overnight social media sensations. But when Kevin and Ernest investigate the mystery of Ernest’s past, they become a target of the CIA.
