Best Essential Oils for Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a complex gynecological disorder that can cause chronic inflammation and pain. Here are the best essential oils for endometriosis according to their benefits, studies and also my experience. Yes, there is not enough scientific evidence to support the claim that essential oils can cure endometriosis. Yet, some research indicates that aromatherapy can help relieve endometriosis symptoms. You will see below in which way.

Here are some of the best essential oils for endometriosis and their targeted benefits but also, my insights on each and one of them
Rose: Rose essential oil is known for its anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. It can help reduce inflammation and pain associated with endometriosis.

Personal note: I have found a very interesting study that says Rose can be great against adhesions. Here it is. Yet, pure rose essential oil is way to expensive for me, I haven’t tried it. There is a blend of rose and career oil. Maybe I will try it some day.

Melissa: Melissa essential oil is a powerful anti-inflammatory agent that can help reduce inflammation and pain associated with endometriosis.

Personal note: I have tried only Melissa tablets for a thyroid problem I had, didn’t know it is also great for endometriosis.

Ginger: Ginger essential oil is one of the strongest oils to promote circulation and disperse stagnation in the reproductive or pelvic area. It can help reduce inflammation and pain associated with endometriosis.

Personal note: I do take Ginger, internally, in a vegan capsule, on a blend I did for immunity support. I remind you that if you take these essential oils internally you should consult a specialist and to purchase only pure essential oils from a highly reputed brand.

Frankincense: Frankincense essential oil can help with several symptoms of endometriosis, including inflammation, balance hormone levels, help with PMS and cramping.

Personal note: My number 1 essential oil. I take it internally, topically, in blends etc.

Copaiba: Copaiba essential oil has anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties that can help reduce inflammation and pain associated with endometriosis.

Personal note: Here you can find a great study on copaiba and endometriosis. I also take it, it’s my second favorite essential oil, I use it just like Frankincense.

Clove: Clove essential oil has analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce inflammation and pain associated with endometriosis.

Personal note: I use it, it’s a great antimicrobial essential oil, my favorite essential oil in this respect of bacteria, viruses, inflammation. I also read it’s great against HPV.

Clary Sage: Sage essential oil has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties that can help reduce inflammation and pain associated with endometriosis.

Personal note: I read a lot about it. I purchased it  but didn’t try it yet. Will give you an update soon.

What other essential oils for endometriosis do I use

Besides those, I use in blends (internally and topically) Geranium, Cypress (together with Frankincense, Copaiba and career oil is great fro inguinal hernia too), Lemon, Helichrysum and a blend for immunity in which I put 20-30 drops of Oregano, Clove, Frankincense, Ginger, Basil, Thyme (although I think I am allergic to Thyme).

How do I use essential oils for endometriosis?

Topically: in a 10 ml roll-on or little bottle I add 10 drops of Copaiba, Frankincense, Geranium, Helichrysum and Cypress – the last two when I have those. I add unfractionated coconut oil to complete the bottle and massage my lower belly.

Internally: in a vegetarian capsule I add 1-2-3 drops of Copaiba, Frankincense, Geranium and when I have Helichrysum.

Internally, for immunity I put in a 10 ml bottle the immunity blend I have told you about above and have 6-7-8 drops from it internally, in a vegetarian capsule. Here I didn’t add any career oil.

How essential oils helped me? My general insight + recommendations

I have been using essential oils extensively for about 4 months. The first month, when my period came I think it was the best period of my life. Yet, I still had headaches.

Before going to my medical check up I literally sank into frankincense oil and it was the only time when my doctor said “you only have 1 cm ovarian cyst” which is wow for me. No adhesions, no nodule, at least not as the ultra sound showed. And my doctor is an endometriosis specialist, in 2015 he did see at ultrasound adhesions and a bowel nodule. Not anymore, I am done with that.

Another benefit: no colds for me since I have been taking the essential oils.

Recommendations: do your “homework” online, join Facebook groups, ask questions, or, even better, work with a specialist. Then add the essential oils gradually, to see how you are feeling. If you have some allergies pay attention to the strongest essential oils.

! I have also found a great study on ROSE DAMASCENA and adhesions: it seems this oil is great against adhesions after abdominal surgeries. The study is made on rats, but still, I think it is important too.

It is important to note that essential oils are not a substitute for medical treatment. If you are considering using essential oils as part of your endometriosis treatment, discuss it with your doctor. Your doctor may be able to recommend a safe and effective way to incorporate essential oils into your treatment plan.
